Getting into a routine

Woa! What is going on here?

Daddy/daughter time.

Wow! I can't believe that we have been parents for a month already. Slowly it feels like we are figuring out what needs to be done, how to do it, and learning about Olivia. A routine is beginning to emerge and we are becoming more comfortable in our new roles. Chris has gone back to work and he is learning how to work on minimal sleep. Olivia and I are enjoying our time together. Here's a look at our typical day: change a diaper (and outfit if necessary), take a bottle, have a nap, repeat. If we are lucky, there may be some awake time after a bottle and before a nap. Our house definitely has the "lived in" look! I am also functioning on minimal sleep, but I am learning to relax/sleep whenever Olivia is sleeping. Hence why things rarely get done around the house.

Our 2 week check up went really well. The doctor wanted to make sure that Olivia was back up to her birth weight by this appointment. She now weighs 7 lbs. 10 oz. When the doctor mentioned this, I looked from Olivia to Chris to myself and said to the the doctor, "Obviously eating is not a problem for this family." It appears Olivia is developing well and we and the doctor have no concerns for her at this time. Our next appointment will be in February where she will receive her first immunizations. Thankfully Chris will be there for that one!

Olivia and I are beginning to get out of the house more. We've been to church (which she thankfully sleeps through!), met a friend for lunch, and have gone out shopping. It's great getting out of the house and Olivia does well traveling. It does me good getting out too versus just being a home body.

Even though this month has been full of difficult adjustments, we wouldn't trade this for anything in the world. Parenting is definitely the hardest job that one could ever love. We hope you enjoy the new pictures we've posted and soon there will be Olivia's one month pictures (courtesy of Fallen Leaf Studios).

Home at last...

Well, Olivia has been home for about a week now and she is still adjusting to live in the new world. Amy and I got a decent night's sleep about two nights ago (about 4 hours). She is eating well and regularly and definately let's us know when she is hungry or needs a diaper change. :)

Yesterday we made our maiden voyage with the bundle of joy to our friends Dan and Michelle. Olivia did very well during the trip...actually falls asleep as soon as we start moving.

Here are some new pics for all of you out there. Enjoy.
