Olivia's First Easter

Our Easter was pretty low key this year. Chris' dad was flying home, so we didn't get to see him at all. We spent Olivia's first Easter with my family. As you can see, Grandma, Grandpa, and Great-Grandma gave her some stuffed animals. Olivia wasn't too sure what she thought of them, but she came around.

Playing around...

Here is Olivia trying to have some play time. She is getting much better at holding her head up on her own and for longer periods of time! The surf board doesn't work so well for tummy time right now, so we've just started using the Boppy pillow for that. She seems much happier when we do that (thanks for the idea Michelle!)

And now for our ultimate favorite picture...

Here is our own little Sweedish Chef!

Dealing with colic...

We're learning there is no "magic pill" when dealing with colic. While the list of what didn't work is rather long, here are the two things that usually work. This carrier that I am wearing seems to do the trick and we can never go wrong with the "football" hold. Knock on wood...the past 3 days we haven't had ant colic!!! (I hope I didn't just jinx us!!!!!!!!)

A Visit to School

On February 6, Olivia and I took a trip out to Zeeland to have lunch with my co-workers. It was great seeing everyone again and showing them how big Olivia is getting! That definitrly surprised everyone, but not as much as when my boss and I told them I would not be returning. It's official, I've become a Stay-At-Home-Mom! I'm thrilled to begin this next chapter in my life. I've always enjoyed teaching and could never imagine myself doing anything else. Now I can't imagine going back...at least not for awhile. Thank you ZPS for so many wonderful and memorable years!

The Many Faces of Olivia Grace

I've wanted to create this post for quite some time, and now over the past 2 months we have been able to collect various pictures to make this happen. One of my favorite things to do is just watch Olivia. It's amazing to see all of the changes that she has been going through and it is tons of fun just to watch her various facial expressions. Here are some of our favorite ones...
It all began the moment she came out...
Check out my Gene Simmons impression!

Woa! Who are you?

Whatchya doin'?

Ewww...what was that?

Stand back! I am going to sneeze...like my mother!

Rrrrrooooaaaarrrr!

Deep in thought...in my dreams!

Hmmm...would you mind rubbing my feet next?

What am I doing here?

Happy thoughts...

I'm not very happy with you right now!

Olivia's First Holiday

Okay, not counting New Year's Day, we are approaching Olivia's first holiday...Easter! Well in honor of this important event, my sister and I took Olivia to see the EASTER BUNNY!

We thought she looked adorable!

Olivia's Baptism

This post has been one month in the making. I've wanted to write about this. but I've been waiting for the pictures. Well now I finally have them....

On Sunday, February 3 Olivia was baptised in the Catholic church. It was a beautiful day that was spent with friends and family. The baptism occurred after the 11AM Mass and we then had an open house to celebrate at our house. It was wonderful to see all of the friends that stopped by to help us celebrate. We hope you enjoy these pictures.

Olivia's baptism gown was made from my wedding dress.

It was an honor to have Fr. Ron baptize our daughter because 4 years ago he baptized Chris.
